Laissez Faire is Larry Cherubino’s range of natural wines. They are the ultimate expression of natural winemaking made in small batches from hand-harvested grapes. The fruit is sourced from ideally situated vineyards with low density plantings or dry-grown bush vines in favourable micro-climates.
Larry created this label to express a true sense of place within his wines ’I want people to taste where these wines are from and what the soils and climate deliver’.
Larry Cherubino is one of Australia’s most recognised winemakers. Larry Cherubino wines was only established in 2005. The considerable success is a combination of more than 20 years experience in Australia and across the major wine producing regions of the world. Larry has spent much of his time searching for the best vineyards and most suitable sites across Western Australia. The fruit is source from the Southern half of Western Australia with a particular focus on Great Southern and it’s sub regions of Porongurup and Frankland River.
Larry was raised in the Swan Valley and studying agriculture when he worked a vintage at Houghton, Australia’s third oldest winery. He deferred his degree and spent the next few years working in Europe and back at Houghton. He studied Oenology at Roseworthy in Adelaide and became head winemaker at Tintara Wines in South Australia. Larry went on to work in wineries across Europe, earmarking clones he felt would be suitable for the conditions in Western Australia.
The Laissez Faire range is made with a conscious decision to reduce additions and maximise purity and quality.
